Dreaming about jaguars
ver video

Artisan creator of burnished clay jaguars

The jaguar is the protective God of Juana's ancestors, which is why she makes the pieces with a certain respect and makes them unique.

Juana has been working with clay for over 25 years, using the technique taught to her by her mother and grandmother, a legacy she proudly displays to us.

As an artisan creator, she wanted to give her pieces her personality by capturing what she sees in her dreams.

We were lucky to start with this job, which changed our lives. Joan

This is how he makes the pieces

A tradition that has been maintained for 28 years.

From the moment she collects the clay to begin creating the jaguars she dreams of, Juana takes care of every detail, as if it were a ritual. She begins by sifting the clay to remove all impurities.

Then he kneads the clay with water and begins to shape his jaguars completely by hand, sculpting with his hands this tradition full of mysticism.

When the pieces come out of the wood-fired oven in the workshop, Juana begins to decorate her jaguars by hand, with a brush and without any kind of stencil.

This step, in which he sometimes draws pure symbolism on his pieces and other times decorates them as they appear in his dreams, takes him two weeks on average, depending on the size of the piece.

The pieces made by Juana

The protection that its pieces give us and that it shares with all of us.
