Wood Craftsman Creator

Juan learned how to work with wood when he entered the Jalisco workshop to work, where he became a professional in this technique.

Within this workshop, there are expert carvers and cutters of this wood.

Juan shows us the entire procedure they do with the wood, explaining that for the wood to be well cured and perfect, it usually takes between 1 and 3 months.

The secret is, above all, the creativity of each worker. Juan (Parota)

This is how he makes the pieces

Handicraft work of great majesty.

The first thing they do is cut down the tree. At the workshop, they receive the cut tops and the roots just as they are taken out of the ground.

The wood must be dried, either by kiln drying or naturally in the shade. The latter method, which is the most traditional, takes about 2 months.

The next step is to give them a good finishing, as Juan tells us, this consists of brushing the wood and polishing it and then sanding it to prepare it for sealing. If there was a carving step, it would be done by hand just before sealing.

Sealing is done with a polyurethane primer that absorbs the varnish or wax applied in the last step.
