Artisan creator of pedal loom

Mr. Adame is an example of overcoming difficulties. He began working with the pedal loom under the supervision of his grandmother, who taught him the trade.

Thanks to her curiosity, she has set up a workshop where she combines the demands of her clients with traditional craftsmanship when making looms.

Today he is looking for a way to ensure that this work is not lost and to give continuity to these wonderful pieces.

I was almost born into this, my father opened the workshop when I was 3 years old. Adame

This is how he makes the pieces

A workshop where everyone who works tries to put in their best effort to get the best pieces.

Adame tells us that the process begins by thoroughly wetting and “crushing” the 100% natural raw cotton balls.

Once they are wet, start to dye them with natural pigments collected from nature. Depending on the time of year, the pigments give one tone or another.

In order to weave the threads from the balls, Adame starches them and lets them dry for a while to then prepare the loom on the wooden structures.

When the thread is dry, it is wound onto cones and onto the warp of the loom to begin weaving with the pedal loom, ensuring thread by thread that it is well woven into the warp.
