Artisan Creator from Olinalá
Part of his family works in his workshop and teaches them this wonderful art of painting in an exceptional way.
The care taken when choosing materials, oils, pigments and varnishes make their tones and finishes exclusive.
This is how he makes his pieces
A tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation.
First, the Linaloe wood is prepared, typical of the Olinalá region, which gives its name to this characteristic craft.
Once the wood is cured, the first layer of natural pigment is added and left to dry, then another layer mixed with oils, such as chia oil, is added.
Once the two glasses are dry, Eric begins to grate the pigment with a feather or the tip of the agave, thus creating the drawings that the piece carries.
The last step is to apply a glaze specific to this technique so that the piece has a characteristic shine and is long-lasting.
Eric's elaborate pieces
The art that he shares with all of us.
