Eric, Artisan Creator from Olinalá

Eric is an artisan creator of the Olinalá technique who is unique when it comes to innovating and adapting to new needs.

Lo que empezó siendo un juego de niña, es lo que ahora le da de comer.

First, the Linaloe wood is prepared, typical of the Olinalá region, which gives its name to this characteristic craft.

Once the wood is cured, the first layer of natural pigment is added and left to dry, then another layer mixed with oils, such as chia oil, is added.

Once the two glasses are dry, Eric begins to grate the pigment with a feather or the tip of the agave, thus creating the drawings that the piece carries.

The last step is to apply a glaze specific to this technique so that the piece has a characteristic shine and is long-lasting.
